The Brother’s Jewelry Co. Conflict-Free Promise

The Brother’s Jewelry Co. is committed to sourcing our diamonds with the highest ethical standards, and we have a zero-tolerance policy towards “blood diamonds” or unethical suppliers. We only source our diamonds through the largest and well-respected suppliers who share our same values and follow the ethical standards set by the Kimberley Process. While the Kimberley Process has only been around for 20 years, The Brother’s Jewelry Co. has been adhering to the highest ethical standards throughout our 75 years in the industry.

The Kimberley Process

The Kimberley Process is an international initiative created in 2003 with the goal of increasing transparency and oversight in the diamond industry in order to eliminate the trade of conflict or “blood” rough diamonds. Rough diamonds are shipped in sealed containers with a Kimberley Process certificate as proof of ethical sourcing.

Positive Impact of Diamonds

What often isn’t understood, mainly due to pre-conceived notions about rough diamonds, is the immense positive impact that diamond producers have on communities around the world. The revenue from diamond mining contributes hundreds of millions of dollars to local social programs, education, and healthcare. Leading diamond producers employ thousands of individuals, providing well above average salaries for countries where employment opportunities aren’t as widely available as in some parts of the world.
